When a family member or significant other needs help for substance abuse issues or other self-destructive behaviors that are affecting others, but refuses to seek professional help, an intervention may be appropriate. An intervention can be helpful in encouraging people to seek help for one of the following issues:
- Abuse of alcohol or drugs
- Nicotine Addiction
- Eating Disorders
- Compulsive gambling
- Sexual/Pornography Addiction
- Excessive Internet or computer use
All intervention processes are conducted through a non-confrontational, non-judgmental manner, with respect and dignity for all intervention participants. Prior to the intervention itself, all participants will need to attend a training program. Here each participant will develop skills to challenge the person who is suffering from their behaviors to seek help. Educational presentations regarding the specific problem will also increase the participants knowledge of the problem. The intervention can be done either at our office or a location agreeable to all parties involved.
DUI Solutions & Treatment Alternatives provides caring and professional intervention services to families, significant others and employers who deal with dysfunctional behaviors in the home, school and workplace. For more information or a free consultation, contact our professional staff.
There is a national television program on A&E which illustrates this process. See your local listings for days and times.
