DUI Solutions and Ascent Counseling & DUI Services was established in April 2003. Our intent is to assist all individuals who need specific services for a DUI arrest or any individual who desires help for other alcohol, drugs or other self-destructive behaviors interfering with their quality of life. Our professional staff has extensive experience in the field of counseling and working with all local agents who address these same issues.
Richard Mast, CADC, NCAC II, CCJS
Clinical Director of Treatment Services. He has 25 years of experience in the treatment of various addictions. His experience is with adults as well as adolescents. Prior to entering the field of addictions he completed a Masters Level practicum at Proctor Hospital's Chemical Dependency Unit currently known as Illinois Institute of Addiction Recovery. He is currently a State Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor (NCAC II) and a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist (CCJS) through the American College of Forensic Counselors. Mr. Mast has vast experiences in all levels of treatment including: interventions, corporate training, EAP/SAP Programs, group/individual counseling, and public speaking.
Linda Howley-Skuby, LCSW, MSW, and BS
Graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois with degrees in social work. She later received her certification to work within the school system assisting children with learning needs and behavior difficulties. Ms. Howley-Skuby has specific training in a variety of mental health and addiction issues. She has vast experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families with both mental health and addiction issues. Ms. Howley-Skuby assisted in the development of the Family Program at BroMenn Hospital in Normal, Illinois which is now known as the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery. Her training and background for development of this program was provided by Hyland Center in St. Louis Missouri. She is dedicated in assisting individuals who are seeking to maximize their potential and gain more from their life experience.
Robert Fickes, MA, LCPC, CADC
Clinical Director of the Springfield, IL office. Bob has had over 12 years of substance abuse experience beginning at Triangle Center for 8 years and ending as a Manager with IL Institute for Addiction Recovery. Bob developed a special interest working with children, adolescents and families while working as the Director of Inpatient Education and Specialty Services at Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center, a psychiatric child and adolescent hospital in Springfield, IL. Bob worked with children and families at both Fourth Street Clinic and Killian & Associates, S.C. as a private practitioner. Bob is fluent in sign-language and has an undergraduate degree in Deaf Education.
Leanna Tomin-Lange, MA, LCPC, CADC
Clinical Counselor at the Springfield, IL office. Leanna was the Director of Client Services at Triangle Center, where she retired after 30 years of service. Leanna offers individual, family and group therapy. She has an interest for working with those in diverse populations. Leanna's expertise is in CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and she practices Terrence Gorski's Brief Strategic Problem-Solving Group Therapy model. Leanna also volunteers at Phoenix Center providing counseling services to those who live with HIV.
